Gitane Nervex Professional – Verkauft
Diese Rennmaschine von Gitane stand 30 Jahre unberührt auf einem Dachboden. Es handelt sich um ein ehemaliges Vereinsrad aus dem Jahr 1963, welches dem Verein getreu ein gelb lackiertes Steuerrohr hat. Wo auch immer man hinschaut sind die Renn-Gene zu sehen. Lediglich der Erbauer dieses Rades bleibt ein Mysterium.
A thoroughbred racing machine
This frame was built exclusively for professional competition use. The Reynolds 531 tubes from England have been lugged with Nervex Professional lugs and have dropouts from Campagnolo. Nervex Professional lugs were known to provide an incredibly precise fit and were the first choice for most frame builders in France and England. Reynolds 531 tubing combined stiffness with light weight. Born was the perfect racing machine. Not even the manufacturer was noted. Only the yellow-painted top tube gives an indication of its origin. This stood for the club colour of the rider who bought and rode this bike in Frankfurt, Germany. The rest remains a mystery.
No space for frills
Here it was a matter of fractions of a second and therefore the whole bike is rigorously designed for maximum performance. The equipment is well thought-out and consists largely of components from the Campagnolo Record series, such as the rear derailleur, front derailleur, headset, shifters, seat post and the particularly beautiful high flange hubs. Apart from this equipment, a Stronglight 63 crank was installed. This crank is designed for racing use and was used because of its particularly high stiffness. The brake calipers were originally from Universal. However, these were replaced with Mafac calipers due to their underlying braking power. The rare Ambrosio handlebar combination rounds off the bike.

With the introduction of the first Campagnolo Record generation, Campagnolo laid the foundation for its most famous groupset.
Campagnolo establishes for the first time the concept of the "group
In the late 50s and early 60s Campagnolo Campagnolo develops other bicycle components apart from the rear derailleur and introduces the concept of the complete groupset. The various parts are matched to each other and are marketed together on the market.
The best rear derailleur of its time
Only a few years earlier, Campagnolo brought the first parallelogram rear derailleur onto the market. With this, the manufacturer achieved a breakthrough. In 1963, the Record rear derailleur was brought onto the market. Thanks to the reworked shift cage, it can guide the chain better and thus serve a larger gear range. That year, 110 out of 130 participants in the Tour de France rode a Campagnolo rear derailleur.
