Rickert Spezial – Verkauft

The Dortmund frame builder Hugo Rickert used to solder each of his frames himself. Thus, this frame from 1981 is also a one-off, completed with the best components of its time.

He had no employees

Worried about diluting his frame quality, Hugo Rickert did not accept employees in his workshop. He soldered every frame himself, leaving only work such as the construction of the impeller and the manual lining of the sockets to his wife. He liked to keep to himself and always worked alone in his workshop: "Then everything was always right." This bike was also built by Hugo and his wife Doris at the customer's request.

Medal-
Collector

Numerous titles were won on Rickert frames. Among others, Udo Hempel won the world championship in 1970 and was Olympic champion in the four-man team pursuit in 1972. In 1960, Hugo Rickert lent a bike to his friend Dieter Gieseler, with whom he won the silver medal at the Rome Olympics. His bikes were ridden at a total of five Olympic Games.

His workshop resembled a place of pilgrimage

Hugo Rickert was a man of clear words and always remained true to his line. He was known for his categorical aversion to materials such as aluminium or carbon and therefore only built steel frames. He mostly used Reynolds 531 tubing, as he did with this example. In addition, Reynolds gave him permission to use 753 tube sets, which at the time was almost like a knighthood and confirmed the quality of his handiwork.

Campagnolo's flagship for over 10 years

The Super Record group was first launched in 1974 and is the successor to the Nuovo Record group. In 1987, Campagnolo discontinued the production of the Super Record group and replaced it with the C-Record group.

The Group Set of World Champions

The maxim was to combine the attributes of lightness, safety and stiffness. Campagnolo achieved this through a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. This is the group of world champions.

The best material for the best riders

The Super Record group complemented the range of the Italian manufacturer Campagnolo from 1974 onwards and was designed to enable top performance. Super Record is synonymous with professional material and consisted of the highest quality materials of its time.
