Colnago Super – Verkauft

This Colnago Super was one of the best racing bikes on the market in its day. Fitted with Super Record equipment and brazed from Columbus SL tubes, in 1976 it combined everything a full-fledged racing machine needed.

REVOLUTIONARY IN EVERY RESPECT

The Colnago Super first appeared in 1968 and has since been regarded as one of the most advanced racing bikes of its time, the first choice among professional cyclists until the early 1980s. Few bikes have influenced the cycling scene as much as this one. Ernesto Colnago designed a frameset that was considered revolutionary in terms of geometry, weight and stiffness. The frameset was brazed from lightweight Columbus SL tubes and the wheelbase was shortened. Since its launch, countless road bikes have been built with geometry inspired by this model.

WITH THE "SUPER" COLNAGO ACHIEVED A BREAKTHROUGH

The frame and geometry were so successful that they stayed on the market for about 20 years. Now that's a product life cycle! Over time, the frame underwent minor changes, but the basic idea remained the same. It owes its cult status, among other things, to the great successes of the legendary Eddy Merckx. In 1979, even the Pope received a Colnago Super from the traditional Italian company.

LEATHER HANDLEBAR TAPE FROM ITALY

Almarc produced leather handlebar tapes and was founded in 1975 in northern Italy by Mr Roberto Lissoni and his brother. Since the beginning of their business, the brothers have had great success and have worked with many of the major bicycle manufacturers. Among them was Colnago. The patented technology and great craftsmanship helped the two brothers to achieve great success in the business. They used high-quality leather, which was glued and sewn by hand. A lengthy procedure that guaranteed an elegant result and was reserved only for top-class bicycles.

CAMPAGNOLO'S FLAGSHIP FOR OVER 10 YEARS

The Super Record group was first launched in 1974 and is the successor to the Nuovo Record group. The rear derailleur used is one of the first Super Record rear derailleurs ever made. Its distinctive colouring and titanium bolt made it easy to distinguish from the Nuovo Record rear derailleur. In 1987, Campagnolo discontinued the production of the Super Record group and replaced it with the C-Record group.

THE GROUP OF WORLD CHAMPIONS

The maxim was to combine the attributes of lightness, safety and stiffness. Campagnolo achieved this through a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. New materials such as titanium and aluminium alloys were used. This is the group of world champions.

THE BEST MATERIAL FOR THE BEST RIDERS

The Super Record group complemented the range of the Italian manufacturer Campagnolo from 1974 onwards and was designed to enable top performance. Super Record is synonymous with professional material and consisted of the highest quality materials of its time.
